A house is the best investment, always need hard assets that make money.

Not coming from an experienced home owner - but i have been serious looking at the housing market for the last couple years and i would highly recommend investing in certain cities, for the reason i posted above.

Huge initial investment and obviously you won't make money until you pay off what you put in.. it takes years but eventually it pays off. I am just now starting to see a profit after 3 years

That's nothing. There's a couple guys in GC that average 1700-1800 posts per week.

Profits a big plus - I'm looking to make money off of the equity over the years, my goal is to at least have the mortgage covered and property taxes and up keep (which ill do most of it myself)

Still I'm a noob home looker its a big commitment.
