when i built my new computer i made it a point not to save my old music - forced myself re-dl everything and only at 320 kbp/s

higher bit rate doesn't guarantee that it's not crap though, does it?

ah they yea 320 is best youre going to get. V0 if you need quality and space.

tbh i would sell your zune and pick up a better player. ipod video 80gb 5.5 gen late 2006 model is a beast.

has the wolfson built in dac which produces a nice warm harmonic sound closer to what the human ears receive. and with a quick install of rockbox you can plag flacs and ogg files natively.

plus you can mod it with a nice 850mah battery and a 3.0v 256gb ZIF ssd.

a bit farther than i would go lol.

i only use my zune when running or driving - which is daily, but those are two points where i don't really care what the quality of my music is. i'm just looking at how i could improve sq while at my computer. my zune is still a limit in that i'd rather not manage two sets of files - mp3s for my zune and flac or w/e else while at my computer

i do have access to a sansa clip so i could switch if i really wanted to. but i'd rather not lol

ah yea. as for other hardware idk im still looking for my own amp/headphones.

how are the m50's? whats the bass and highs like

i don't analytically listen to music or anything, so i think any comments i might have would be worthless...but i will say that to me, they feel like the big boy version of the porta pros. overall, bass is definitely clearer and holds a greater presence. but when i hear a song with a strong, synthesized bass...man. i can't help but smile lol
