That amazon link is basically what I need.

Now I wonder if there is a USB3.0 model that allows for higher bandwidth. Apparently the device you linked has troubles with refresh rates for videos and moving images likely due to either insufficient bandwidth for 1080p output, or being rendered on the CPU rather than the GPU because of how the drivers were designed.

See my /ee edit.

See my /ee edit.

It didn't burn out, it simply wouldn't extend to that monitor. Likely a driver issue which windows 10 probably screwed up (it's known for removing drivers and installing it's own sometimes).

With that being said, that still doesn't get me any closer to having 3 monitors attached to a laptop. My laptop has 1 HDMI output source, so I need a way to attach another 2 monitors.

An option my be an eGPU, but I don't have any external PCI inputs. It would have to be USB3.0 based. (http://www.pcworld.com/article/2984716/laptop-computers/how-to-transform-your-laptop-into-a-gaming-powerhouse-with-an-external-graphics-card.html?page=2)

It did burn out...we went thru all the driver crap, via PM.

Anyways...the fastest USB bandwidth is USB 3.1 = 10 Gbit/s... and.... HDMI 2.0 systems can transfer data at up to 18Gbps, up from 10.2Gbps in HDMI 1.4.
USB 3.0 is only 5Gbit/s.

/e But still...it's all gonna be the identical image.
What you need, is a laptop made with 4x Raspberry Pis, or 4x GPUs. :)

/ee ...and the program Synergy to keep them all separate.

Yes, but at what resolution and refresh rate? A lower resolution with a slower refresh rate would require less bandwidth.

Found this:

Code
The USB32HDEH USB 3.0 to HDMI® Adapter turns a USB 3.0 port into an HDMI output port with 1920x1200/1080p video support. The adapter features built-in USB 3.0 pass-through, which offers a connection port in place of the USB port used for connecting the HDMI adapter – an ideal workaround for Ultrabook™ or laptop users, where only a limited number of USB ports are available.

No its not. I don't think you understand how these work.

The point is to downsize the hardware not add more useless hardware.

Same thing...it's gonna have the same image as HDMI port. An HDMI splitter will do the same thing...give you more HDMI ports.

Either way, you'll still be able to set up dual, triple, quad monitors...just like with a desktop vid card.

Really, all the ass end ( connector end) of a vid card is...is the GPU signal run thru a splitter.

No it won't. Did you even bother reading anything about the product? This will not mirror the monitor to the new sources, it will identify itself as a new monitor. Just as if you were plugging in multiple monitors into a desktop GPU.

Here: http://www.ncix.com/detail/startech-com-slim-usb-3-0-to-3a-94021.htm

Even read the reviews if you must (for both your amazon link and my ncix link).

The splitter reviews say the same thing.

I think you need some sleep because you clearly can not comprehend what I said in the last 3 posts. The link to the splitter (https://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Powered-Splitter-Certified-VHD-0104M/dp/B00263D7A4) you posted mirrors a single output. I want to create addition outputs over USB so that each monitor has a unique source such as the hardware I linked.

See above. :)

/e This is what I get for only having one monitor. :)

/ee Anyways, I still found you what you wanted...even if I didn't know it. :)

When ya see someone filming vertically...
