Going to be modding my dt-990s pretty soon. Finished a hour long job for a client yesterday and got 60$ cash so I have a bit to throw at them.

I am going to be replacing the ear pads since they're worn, but even more so I am going to be doing some actual mods to them such as removable cables/re-cabling, as well as sound mods by way of adding foam/closing off the open backs to change the sound signature.

Original pads are expensive, although I can get the quad strand shielded cable and connectors for about 20$ or less.

Not exactly true, I started with one of those horrible non adjustable 120v irons my Dad got me from RadioShack but that was like 15 years ago.

Should I make my own chair line?

Use some tubing for the frame and just apply fabric/foam/fabric mesh to it.

Get some caster wheels from the parts store for a few bucks.

Steal the lifting mechanism from some old useless chair although I don't ever use them.

What you think guise.
