ouch, ill stick with my i7 7700k.

Performance/price the ryzen line up is still slightly better.
For gaming Coffee lake is quite amazing, but runs really hot you also need to put additional money into a cooler.

The purpose of this is generally for a company to be able to say "we have the fastest chip", before they can actually produce large numbers of them.

Can overclock Ryzen, can't on the 8400, that alone will make up half the difference in performance to the point where it's almost negligible. Also, coffee lake running hot af, stock cooler aint gonna do shit on those if they are under continuous load. Also, keep in mind this was AMD's first go at a modern architecture, they have a lot of room for improvement and they are staying on the same socket for a while yet. Intel are on their third regurgitation of the same processor, pretty soon they are going to have to make major architectural changes to stay on par with AMD once they get some fine tuning done on Ryzen. Ryzen will still be price/performance king for anyone that is looking for longer term system.
