Naah xtu is fine, you are just testing regular day usage. p95 makes an unrealistic stress test.
Nice I'm buying myself a Dell as well tomorrow.
Currently a sale on Dell XPS 15" 7700HQ, 1050, 512 PCI-E SSD, 16GB RAM. From 1600$ to 1350$, plus I might be able to get the student discount for another 10%.
So pretty much been 800$ for me total because of the story in #12

And yes at least an sata ssd is a must in system nowadays.

I was able to get the 10% extra student discount. Just ordered one, I'll let you know my undervolt on it in a week or so.

I guess it's decent :)

The gtx 1050 is way better than the 960m temperature and performance wise.

I can highly recommend ThrottleStop instead of intel extreme tuning utility.
Use task schedule to make it start up at boot. but your core and cache volt to -.125 and the iGPU to -.75

I'm going to take the next step as well and put on some new premium thermal paste on CPU/GPU and some thermal pads on the mosfets.

Was able to shave off 10c and no throttle on CPU, could something after looong loads drop to 2.5Ghz. Also the GPU throttle got way better.
Fans also got completely quiet when doing light stuff like browsing. Was quite annoying I could hear the fans when using it in quiet environments.

Test was done with Prime95 + Furmark 10minutes.

Just opened the laptop

The stock thermal paste, was quite thick and dry

Cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, GPU was a pain to clean because of the pins

Applied thermal paste (thermal grizzly kryonaut). I like to spread it out when it's on bare die.

Some thermal pads 3x1mm has been added on the MOSFET's with heat issues.
