Even you should know csgo fps is not bound to resolution.

Well i never said anything about maxing out everything so idk where that came from, more utilization for more polygons which im not capable of caring about seems not worth it.
gameplay > all

for the record i can though, my gpu is overkill for this res, and combined with the fact that i dont game much nowadays means im probably gonna keep it for a good while longer

The only reason a 7700k can out-perform a 1700 or even really a 1600 in gaming is solely because of its ability to overclock to ~5GHz. Hard to say overclocking doesn't matter when it's the only reason Intel is even worth buying in 2017.
