The reason I suggested the oak frame in the first place was because you said it was a rocker.
I didn't think a rocker on wheels would be a great idea. :)

No. It won't give more support. You still have to attach the wood to those little feet (where the rubber things are).

I've found heavy duty threaded casters with 3", 4", 5" diameter wheels.

/e I've also found many with less height, but I assumed you wanted height.

/e Remember these will have to hold the weight of the chair and the person sitting in it...plus a bit extra.

yea but the wood would be able to like make the little feet a bit more support and spread out the weight a bit

i think i should first drill in a piece of wood, and then the casters into the wood right? this would give it a bit more support? the metal underneath the recliner chair is pretty think and might need some reinforcing

drill through wood and feet and secure with nuts above.
No need to tap as theres not much metal for tapping to begin with and tapping wood is just dumb.

If the top of the casters are flat with mounting holes on corners then secure that to the wood and bolt the feet to the wood yes.

ok thanks. yea, the metal is very thin so i agree that the thread in the thin metal would probably not do much

The threaded casters don't NEED to be tapped. You can just use a pass through holes and use nuts as well.

/e Like the caster I linked above are 3/8" thread...so just drill a 7/16" hole, and use nuts.

You grown up yet?

/e Tapped and nuts would be stronger.

Oak frame would be stronger yet.

Those feet are too small to get more than one decent sized bolt through there...YOU comprehend...yet?
