Nah the 1080 will equally OC.
So when both cards are overclocked it will be the same result.

wouldn't the oc scale of base of each card.
So the 1080ti would scale better regardless.

A game runs 100fps on the 1080 and both cards can OC 15%

1080
100×1.15= 115fps

1080ti
100x1.35= 135
135x1.15= 155.25fps

155.25/115 = 1.35 aka 35% increase?

I don't know that much about the internals of graphics cards, but I would think that there would be some kind of scaling that gets factored in.

If you compare the specs of the GTX 1080 Ti vs 1080, you'll see that the 1080 Ti has a lot more CUDA cores, texture units, and memory bus width among other things.

I very much doubt that the performance of both cards will scale so laterally such that it will maintain only a 35% improvement as compared to each other stock.
