I could but nahhh. I found my old UV5r transceiver antennas. I need to go buy a so 239 to mcx adapter cable to use it with my SDR. Also I don't think I would be able to use car antennas because they were not made for VHF/UHF frequencies.

Well then go to the nearest old folks home and volunteer to haul off any old rabbit ear TV's...I don't think you'll even see TV's that old on trash day.

/e Or maybe some really old electronics repair shop, or really old pawn shop.

/ee Pretty sure car antennas would work, even tho they were only used for AM/FM I bet they can pick up most of the RF band.

Yea... no lol. It's bad enough I have to listen to you, but being surrounded by a bunch of old people? Woaahhhhhhh.

Anyways I found my adapter on 3bay for 5$

They don't even have to be vintage. They were using these antennas up to like a few years back when everything went digital.

These ones would work, but the one on 3bay.ca wanted like 10$ plus another 10$ to ship. Screw that... I'll end up finding one for cheap in a shop one day. Meanwhile I will just use my high gain antennas mounted on my house 3 stories up for my radio project.

Europe/Australia have most of this still functioning for over the air television if I recall. It was just North America that made the switch to pure digital.

Put in a little work on my slowly gaining no momentum whats so ever video game I'm making. I've been working on bits and pieces of a virtual simulation game for a while and I whipped up some simple light day cycle code which is half finished.

I still need to add blending of skyboxes and such, but at least I have a realistic controllable Light object which mimics and sun/moon. This is set to a 60 second = 24 hour light cycle and was captured at about the 25 second mark near sunset. Has the ability to control multiple "suns" and they all rotate around the world on their own axis independently.

Also don't mind the tree I was playing around with Unity tree molding. Not the most realistic tree, but serves its purpose as a shadow creator. Also sorry for the black and white version gif, had to reduce its size so imgur would accept it.

Now THAT's a game I could handle in my declining years. :)
...and I like the tree...looks like nice sturdy oak tree. An East Coast oak, not those live oaks they have out west ;)
