Got to START > Administrative Tools > Computer Management then in THAT window, near the bottom of list on the left side...choose: Disk Management

Take a screen shot of the Disk Management window and post it in here please.

/e Doing this will tell US..exactly what partitions and or hard drives you actually have.

Ok the problem is your Disk 0 or C: drive is only 60GB...and the 18.58GB partition on Disk 0 is probably the factory restore partition.

Factory restore partitions are immovable...you can delete the factory restore partition ...but even then...your C: drive is not going to get any bigger than 60GB ^^

Deleting the 18.58 GB partition will give you 20 more GB for your C: drive, but then you won't be able to do a Factory Restore if it's a factory restore partition...it could also be some other HP bullshyt as well :/

This is what happens when you don't build your own comps.

The 29.93GB partition on Disk 3, is a 30GB HP Flash Drive

/e Disk 0 might be an SSD rather than a HDD...in fact, it probably IS. The 2 x 1TB HDD's are probably in a RAID 0 or 0+1 or 1 ...RAID array as well.

/ee If you feel secure enough to do away with the factory restore partition...we can get you the full 60GB for your C: drive...or you could just get a bigger SSD and simply replace Disk 0

everything Ghot said +:
whats up with disk 2? a un-partitioned 1 TB drive?

possible solutions:
  • As Ghot suggested: perhaps there is a way you can burn a set of system restore dvd's (or if you already have the disks), then delete that system restore partition, then absorb it in to C: for a total of about 60 GB.
  • Or if you have a full copy of Winblows, reinstall it either onto the 60GB SSH and this time don't fuck it up by putting a bunch of garbage on your C drive, or (since I don't think you will be able to actually maintain that): install your Winblows onto one of those 1TB drives, and maybe just installed the current couple of games you are playing on to the SSD so you can at least get something out of having it.

I've never set up a RAID array...but I could see it LOOKING like that in Disk Management. It's probably two cheap ass 1TB's 5400 rpm, so HP just made a RAID 0 array out of them.

/e Good look on the ...make factory restore DVD's ^^

/ee This just makes me even more happy, that I build my own comps :D

You mean 2 500gb glued into a raid 0?

Either 2x 500GB in RAID 1 or 2x 1TB's in RAID 0.

I think is has to be 2x 1TB...and in My Computer..it only shows as 1x 1TB...and prolly in RAID0 to give speed, and allow HP to use really crappy 1TB's.

I don't think Disk Management can lie about what physical devices are present.

/e Since only Disk1 shows a drive letter, and Disk2 shows unallocated, and because Disk Management shows 2x 1TB HDD's.....it leads me to believe it's a RAID array of 2x 1TB crappola HDDs

/ee I Googled HPv220w and that is definitely an HP 30GB Flash Drive. ONLY HP, would come up with a Flash Drive of 30GB ...rather than 16GB or 32GB etc. :/

I see it as either:
two identical 1 TB disks, with one of them formatted
or
two 500GB in raid 0, represented as the disk 2 container, accessible to the OS as disk 1

either way its a cheese fest.

Could very well be as you say...we need someone with a RAID array to look and see what Disk Management shows them as.

/e I would assume that 2x 500GB would have to be RAID1 to show as 2x 1TB in Disk Management. I would also assume that 2x 1TB's would have to be in RAID0 to show as 2x 1TB in Disk Management.
But I believe that there are 2x 1TB's...like I said, I don't think Disk Management can lie about what devices are present. Microsoft mmc snap-ins are very deep in the OS, and Disk Management is definitely an mmc snap-in.

/ee ...and the combo of HP and Winblows, just adds fuked-up-icing to the already fuked-up-cake. :)

I see, well, I take it there is no other way than to periodically delete rubbish so I can save images and shit when I want to...
Funny thing is, I can actually play games at maximum resolution and the computer is still incredibly fast, even when I reach 0 (yeah, ZERO) room left in C:
I just can't download images or open them... which should be a lot less costly than playing games.
Hell, I can watch films and listen to music, only images won't open. Very logical... and annoying but I can deal with it.
