the money is there, but i just don't know if i'll see a difference or get 225 dollars in enjoyment out of a nicer panel...
but i also dont wanna drop a grand on a screen and regret not paying more for a better one

thanks! now the only other issue is to get the cable to the other side of the gap in the wall... but i think that seems to just be a removing drywall issue... probably not a big deal...

edit#2 - i suppose we could remove the molding on the top and get it across that way?

I don't know what your return policy is like. Maybe buy both at the same time and return the one you don't want? idk.. anyways as long as you buy either one you shouldn't regret. they are both the two most amazing TVs of the year. performance per dollar wise of course.

ordered the UT50... saw both at best buy, the ST50 had a nicer border to it, but in store didn't see much of a difference in picture. the salesman said the panel is nicer, making the blacks a little better, but i couldn't notice it

also got the same wall mount i linked earlier, hope it works out!

will update once installed, with pics

Yeah, it is pretty much the same TV (UT50 and ST50) with a different panel, the giving the ST50 slighter better blacks, but the UT50 is still able to produce blacks as low as 0.013cd/m², the ST50 around 0.012cd/m² still way better than any LED and only a few plasmas beat it.

Good luck and enjoy your AWESOME TV :)

thanks! probably wont get speakers for a while but i'll post here when i'm looking for some. panasonic offers some home theater kits with 5.1 channel, one for 289.99 and one for 375, the difference being wireless rear speakers for the 375 one. might wait till black friday for those... don't know yet

might just get a sound bar and a woofer instead, however

TV should get here around 2, waiting on delivery man. hopefully mounting goes well and it looks nice. i might take a pic when its all done

TV i mounted and set up, only cord hanging is power cord, because its a unique fitting and clearly long enough to go through the wall. extension cord wont fit into the wall :(
