how the hell are you supposed to use a rainbow table against a online protocol :/ plus that wouldn't even work if did get their password hash because now a days all hashes are salted meaning you would have to make ANOTHER 100gb rainbow table for that specific hash type and salt.

Yep. I tried to use a rainbow table on my own windows vista password. It cracked easy shit like all numbers, but utterly failed on complex symbols, combinations of letters and numbers, etc.

Windows 7 has a more complex system, haven't looked into it, but its supposed to be harder to crack than vista by a factor of 10

you assume that every website knows how to properly encrypt passwords...*cough*...

also... there are many definitions for the word "hacker" that are often used interchangeably...for instance...I hack online games clients...but I don't hack servers...

it would appear that in your definition of the word, "hacker" means that you can do it all...which doesn't make sense...because no one does it all...hence why it was a "team of hackers" with their own specialties that hacked Sony.
