the lowest priced amp i can think of is the fiio e11. i think this would be great for the m50 because it has bass boost, but the m50 dont need an amp. you probably want to look for a dac, but i dont know any for that low

just read a few comparisons and the e11 does seem pointless for me. e7 however looks decent - still would like to see what other kind of options there are though

ideally i want to mount something inside of a prodigy with slight modding, but that's another obstacle in itself

Problem with that is computers give off a lot of EFI, You'd have to shield it good if you jerry rigged a combo inside the case.

Looking for two things:
Computer desktop speakers for music
Complete sound system for blu ray and gaming on tv

Any audiophile here have some recomendations?
Id say under $200 for computer. Im running through a laptop (p-7805u) ... dont know how much that matters :/
Not sure what I should spend for movie gaming... the cheaper the better I suppose. Still want quality of course which is why im asking you fine people :)

for $200 PC desktop speakers of high quality:

Option 1

Pioneer Andre Jones series bookshelf speakers $70: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-BS21-LR-Watt-2-Way-Speakers/dp/B004MEWZE4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1357177209&sr=8-7&keywords=Pioneer+Andrew+Jones

Dayton Sub 1000 100w 10" subwoofer $109: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-628

Lepai 2x15w stereo amp $26: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=310-302

total cost $205

Option 2:

Dayton B652 bookshelf speakers $29: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-652

Dayton sub 1200 120w 12" subwoofer $129: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-629

Dayton DTA1 stereo amp $44:

total cost = $202

Both equally fantastic value.

Doesn't have to be that order.

I recommend either the Dayton SUB 800, 1000 or 1200

paired with Dayton or Pioneer speakers

and a Lepai or Dayton amp.

Have I lost my right to edit posts? Oo

As for blu-ray, you'll generally want a surround, but your budget will obviously have to be higher than $200, as you not only have a pair of front channel speakers, a subwoofer and an amplifier, but also have to include a centre channel and extra pair of bookshelf speakers.

If you look at the used market you'll find much greater values, but examples of great sounding 5.1s new:

Pioneer bookshelf speakers $69 X 2 = $138: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-BS21-LR-Watt-2-Way-Speakers/dp/B004MEWZE4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1357177209&sr=8-7&keywords=Pioneer+Andrew+Jones

Pioneer centre channel $95 = http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-C21-Watt-2-Way-Speaker/dp/B004MF4S0M/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1357177209&sr=8-8&keywords=Pioneer+Andrew+Jones

Pioneer 100 watt subwoofer $81: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SW-8-Watt-Subwoofer-System/dp/B004MF2ZG6/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1357177209&sr=8-10&keywords=Pioneer+Andrew+Jones

Denon AVR 1513 surround receiver / mulit-channel amplifier/DAC etc $199 : http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR-1513-Channel-Through-Receiver/dp/B007R8U5VM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1357177812&sr=1-1&keywords=Denon+AVR+1513

total cost for this system is $513, its a complete $513, fully audiophile grade. Easily destroys any HTIB/soundbar costing even double this amount.
