in your line of work, why not pepper spray or taser

so if u cannot subdue ur client or whoever you are helping with your own hands, then at least you wont have to pop a cap or two into them and increase damage and risk of killing them

also removes the risk if they happen to wrestle the gun out of your possession and use it against you

Like I said, you won't even know I even have a firearm on me unless it's being pointed at you. If it's pointed at you and you're still coming towards me, I'm going to pull the trigger. That's why I carry it. Now, I also know state laws. Missouri isn't a stand your ground state. That firearm is there if I ever HAVE to use lethal force against someone. If I have to pull that firearm, I'm not going to be barking orders for someone to stop. I'm going to pull the trigger. The less lethal force option is my hands. I don't carry pepper spray or a taser because I don't need them. Also, pepper spray is a double edged sword. It could hit me and others around me. The taser isn't 100% effective. A taser that fires barbs into the attacker is not a cheap option nor is it always effective. A handheld taser could be taken and used against me. That firearm is there as a last resort and for no other reason. I'll probably never need it in my lifetime but it's there if I do.

You'd be surprised at the number of people pepper spray / tasers DONT work on. Hell i've seen people brush it off like it was a slap on the arm.

Speaking of which, There was just a story in the news the other day, about a guy running around Toys'R'Us with a plastic lightsaber hitting people with it. Cops got called out & He refused to leave/drop the saber, They tried tasing him... He busted out the force & actually blocked multiple taser attempts with a plastic lightsaber LOL

And often times its just the threat of holding the gun that will stop a good amount of people in their tracks.

also he said it was the ABUSER of his client, Not his client themselves.

I should probably have said alleged abuser. Anyway, I'm not interested in getting into a gun debate. Everyone is welcome to their opinion and I see both sides through neutral eyes. If anyone would like to discuss firearms or knives, I would like to beckon you to the CHD off-topic thread.

all you people with guns and knifes, how often have u actually been in a situation where u needed to use it?

if u place yourself in these kinds of situations maybe something else is the issue?

I don't see any issues.

Honestly the answer is going to be very low, if at all. But the better question is, What happens when you do & You don't have anything on you?

I plan on getting my concealed carry permit eventually here, But don't plan on walking through town with it 24/7. It will be used more for having it when i go on a road trip / out of town etc.

I usually have some sort of knife on me, Just because they're so damn handy if you have to open a package / Cut a peice of rope / stab some noobwhacker in the face, etc.  I Just have a little dinky carabiner type knife atm. Anything else is too bulky for every day usage imo.

got my concealed permit when i turned 21 lol. (however in Wyoming you do not need one.). in my hometown i never really carried it due to being such a small ass retirement settlement lol. but moving to a different town i started carrying a bit more often. but recently have not been since i just go straight to work and home lol.
