Well, apparently it's the soldering on the vga port, cuz my other monitor is doing it as well. But I can't jiggle the cord and change colours on the monitor with that one.
So I carefully routed and tightened the vga cable as such that it stays within 1-2 colours. (yellow and kinda whitish-blue)

Then I secured the cable in place with several layers of duct tape, reapplying more whenever it gets loose and starts to slip out of position.
I can't move the monitor around much, so I adjusted the angle down with the empty roll of masking tape from the original job.

It works respectably well. Can't show you the qtip/battery splint because it's wrapped in tape, acting as an anchor.
