Just fixed my broken monitor from turning bright purple and shutting off by making a splint with 2 q tips, a AA battery, and a 4th layer of duct tape.

Have to elevate it at a precise angle so it tints yellow, and therefore useable.

My pc needs to get here asap.
I'm running out of room for duct tape. :(

I'm so interested in that post, but have no clue where this surgery was performed on the monitor. I think a pic is a must in this situation.

Well, apparently it's the soldering on the vga port, cuz my other monitor is doing it as well. But I can't jiggle the cord and change colours on the monitor with that one.

So I carefully routed and tightened the vga cable as such that it stays within 1-2 colours. (yellow and kinda whitish-blue)

Then I secured the cable in place with several layers of duct tape, reapplying more whenever it gets loose and starts to slip out of position.

I can't move the monitor around much, so I adjusted the angle down with the empty roll of masking tape from the original job.

It works respectably well. Can't show you the qtip/battery splint because it's wrapped in tape, acting as an anchor.

It wasn't working, still bright red. Had to rip all of my previous work off and reapply new adhesive.

Step 1: AA battery splinted to the cable sleeve, to make it easier to work with under the monitor.

Step 2: VGA cable routed and secured to an angle that makes the pc monitor "fix" it's colors to normal tint.

Step 3: Finishing touches. Secured the cable in place as well as I could. Added some more tape along the routing line to keep it tight.
