wish they would do that test over using a real heatsink, or a series of heatsinks

So do I bro, so do I. ^^

/e Along with many of the more modern compounds included.

/ee But as I just made myself a 3/4 pound cheeseburger, I'll leave off worrying for now :)

What do you recommend for thermal adhesive. Was looking at the arctic silver thermal 2 part adhesive for permanently mounting heat sinks onto chip sets.

Can't recommend anything in that area, you know me, I just worry about the CPU's. I buy mobo's that can take some serious heat, for things like the chipsets.
I would ask Battleship about that.

/e But I wouldn't "permanently" mount any heatsinks. That's one of those, no 2nd chance options if things don't go well the first time.

Bought some arctic silver thermal adhesive for my embedded projects that don't physically have a way to mount heat sinks. It drys as hard as epoxy and transfers heat as well as thermal paste. It's fucking expensive though for a 7 gram tube... I got it on sale and it still cost me 16$ and I might get like 10 projects most out of it if I use it sparingly.
