An order filler for a walmart distribution center. Starting pay is 17.45, with a .50 cent increase for grocery order filler and a .30 cent increase for evening shift. However, because of my safety certifications, I negotiated a 2 dollar pay increase. So I'll be making $20.25/hour. I will basically drive around on this pallet thing and pack it with whatever the computer tells me. Then I'll drop it off at a designated point and rinse and repeat.
This is literally almost double what I make now. I've worked my ass off for a non-profit and finally it paid off.
congrats

i always wondered, how do you negotiate pay? are you just like, how much is the pay? oh, well please keep in mind i am certified in blah blah blah...
i've never done such things lol
i suck at negotiating. in my career, they don't tell you how much you're making; they ask you how much you want. my coworker suggested asking for 20% higher than you want, then they decline but counter offer with something near what you really wanted plus extra benefits or something, usually more vacation time or possibility of working from home. so if you want 50k, ask for 60k. either you're lucky and you get it or you get an extra week of vacation time.
