ell ill post nzxt g10/thermaltake water 2.0 extreme results on whatever i buy.... slling my 7950 for a decent amount and will go without a gpu for a bit. ref visiontek 290s are available at 385$ but i wouldn't expect to hit anything above 1200 on them

My 7970 Visiontek overclocks better than my XFX BE 7970. Enjoy Visiontek. Well underrated impo.

Yep. Visiontek isn't a bad brand for reference cards. I use a reference 7970 on my pc and I have the 5th or 6th fastest dual 7000s series on OCN. I could do better but my cpu won't stabilize at 5GHz. :(

If the 290 is anything like the 7970 card they made, it will beast.

Luck in the draw, unless you're buying a Lightning/Classified card you're going to get a speedbinned card.

i may try it then, i want a better pcb but i am not going to massive ocs, im using a water 2.0 extreme and the new nzxt bracket to cool it. sapphire tri-x got 1125 but i dont think they tried to push it (its ref pcb custom cooler). I'd be ok with 1200 core, i dont push memory.

Any reason you want a 290 over a 780?

All 780's can :)
MSI AB Mod can allow up to 1.3v with any GTX 780 with the NPC Voltage controller.

1.3v is more than enough with a simple MSI AB Tweak, if you want any further volts you'll have to use one of the two 1.3v+ Mods.
