Algorithm to create "Deep Note" for their trailers if you can read, these algorithms are not used in sound tracks. So no, THX is not an algorithm/technology to create surround sound effects for movies. THX is a reproduction standard used for audio/visual, a standard that today is pretty meaningless after all. Idea behind THX was to create quality assurance but as today almost any manufacturer can buy the THX certification and put THX sticker on their products makes it meaningless and many have stopped to pay for the certification as it adds no real value anymore.

I bet you are one of those guys that pay 200$ for cables to make it sound better.
