I got a WD 500GB VR...they max out at 222Mb/s and that's the 64MB cache ones....the one you linked is 32MB cache

/e They are good sturdy HDD's but even the fastest VR's won't fill the SATA II bus.

so these like super fast? 10000 vs 7200? ssd prob alot quicker? but this like half price?

Allow me to repeat...I own the fastest WD SATA III, 10K rpm, 64MB cache Velociraptor HDD, they make...it clocks in at 222MB/s, which doesn't even fill the SATA II 3Gb/s bus.

SO, although they are the fastest HDD's, they don't compare to even the slowest SSD's

it's a trade off. their no where near SSD, especially the good ones over 500 read speeds.

but, two of these in a raid 0, for 200$ isn't a bad option imo.
considering, their pretty durable also compared to SSD.

eh, i think SSD's are cool as hell but i wouldn't want one for OS plus one for storage. i like everything on one location, etc.

This was on sale for $260 at one time but it expired and I bought it at full price.
