I like to cook. I figured I'd be just at home with an apron on as I would going to work everyday.

I did put them together, but there wouldn't be anything to fill that space with. If I had the wall length, I would have gone with the 30" width desk by 59" long. Then, I would have purchased two or three of them. But, since I don't have the wall length, I'm working with the 47" x 25". They're sturdy and simple. They'll be easy to move, and both desks only cost me $80.

Besides, the money she makes now can support both of us. When she finishes her nurse practitioner, she'll make way more than enough. We want even more income so we can build a house in the next seven years. It's her dream, I'm just along for the ride.

nice hehe. i hate cooking, but love BBQ'ing.

so do they seem flush when side by side? looking at pics of other people doing it, it seems to be fine. just showed my lady, now she wants me to get her a little craft table huehue. now she's also looking through all the other stuff, gonna be an IKEA house when we get a house

If you absolutely had to have them flush, you could concoct a joining mechanism. Where the legs go in are predrilled holes. You could opt to connect them through those after you put the legs on, while leaving one of the 5 leg screws off.

yeah was thinking something like this. like some kind of plate, to frame one leg from each top, making it very sturdy.

If you take a stroll through your hardware store you'll find something I'm sure. Tomorrow, I'll give you the measurements from the two holes closest to eachother. The leg holes are arranged in a star pattern, 5 screws total.

Use some imagination....get BOTH the 39" and the 25" counter tops....use the 39" one for the desktop and cut two sections from the 25" one, for two angled mortise and tenon legs. :D

/e At least 10x stronger than 4 legs...and looks really cool as well. ^^

/ee You could even get more creative and pass the angled legs through the tabletop about 6 inches or so...to hang headphones or other things on them. You would ofc, need to dowel the angled legs from the sides for strength.

/eee Even Einstein agrees...see the quote under my sig. ;)

/eeee Best part, all ya need is a drill and a chisel. :)
