Koss Portapros are actually really hard to beat for the price. Probably the best selling pair of headphones here in Norway, ahead of any single beats or Bose model.

Actually proud of society for that lol.

looking for a pair of headphone $100 or under. looking for ones that cover my ear and will be good for games/movies on my pc.

any good recommendations?

i saw the first post's listed recommendations but was wondering if there's anything better as that list is a few years old

You're going to probably be looking for a budget of at least 200-250$. Once you buy your headphones (100-150$) you will soon realize you will want a dac/amp combo to go with them which is another 100$.

Anyways AKG Q 701 is like 160$, and the DT990 is anywhere from 160-250$.

I am not aware of anything cheaper since I don't buy headphones, I steal them from RIkuo.

closed or open

closed is more isolated and hardly any sound leakage but you usually give up soundstage
open is sound leakage but you usually have great soundstage
