Just ordered a pair of Koss Porta Pros. Anyone tried these?

For sure.

They sound great for $20 but everyone else will hear what you're hearing too, not to mention you hearing the rest of the world while listening your music.

Not something I personally would get, but I see them used quite a lot when you go around. Sound quality wise, nothing special.

Not gonna use them outside. It's for portable use when I'm traveling etc.

Not the most accurate headphone as it colors the sound and is missing some detail as well. I would get a quality IEM instead for traveling.

Already bought it 2 days ago hehe. I hear from people I know that it has rolled off treble and elevated bass but other than that it's hard to beat for the price. I'm just gonna use it with my iPhone playing FLAC files so it's fine I think. When I get it I'm gonna test it on my dekstop system just for fun although I doubt it scales much.

Thanks for the advice though. If I ever decide to spend big bucks on a portable setup I'm probably gonna go CIEMs or something.

Here's another option for cheap portable audio.

I've been using these for about a month. It's a great value.

It's funny you say that. I've actually read about those and someone I know used it on Cavalli Liquid Glass / Schiit Gungnir Multibit haha. Gonna see if I can compare them to the porta pros next meet.

Lol I think they sound okay for portable use, but that combo might make it really shine.

I used to have pair of similar buds from Sony, they had decent sound quality but comfort were terrible if you were to use them for longer periods. Have been using SoundMagic E10S now and they are amazing for the price they sell for. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005HP3OB0/ same IEM but without a mic. Really good sound all around and comfortable to wear for hours, comes with different size of buds you can choose from.

I think I know what you mean. I had some old Sony buds a long time ago and they were a bitch to use. I haven't used earbuds since then until about a month ago when I got the Monk Plus. The foam fells much better than the itchy Sony ones. $5 for the earbuds and an additional $5 for more replacement foam is a steal.

I've read some good stuff about the E10S.
