It's $300 less, for now...and even the best 780 still won't beat the TITAN....a 780 that doesn't have a price yet  :)

Well see :)

/e don't forget longevity as well...my GTX 280, 580, 680 are all still running no problems...from what I have seen the Lightnings don't have lasting power, which is to be expected

Where do you get your information from...
Oh and the 780 Classifieds can out-clock the Titan currently ;)

Ghot I'm not sure where you get your information from, but you are clearly wrong on the degrading Lightnings.

These cards are top of the line, along with the Classifieds, built for overclocking.
Very few cards can be pushed as far as these two models, and to say they don't have the "lasting power" is ridiculous.

After all EVGA & MSI expect their owners to push these cards to their limit.

man you are talking to a guy who bought a 3gb 580 claiming it to last a long time, then a 680 the same thing, now a titan.

Cards don't last long if you just have them as "spares" for fuck sakes.

all within a pretty short amount of time, considering.

I...KNOW they are fast...when they "outlast" a slower, hotter, more power hungry reference gtx 280...that's lasted 10 years and counting, running 24/7...THEN I'll stand up and take notice.

Just remember to add that in to you price/performance calculations.

That's pathetic. (first off a 280 is not 10 years old)

SECOND

I have a nvidia quadro from 2003 in a dell office pc that still runs, I should definitely boast about its price to performance, and the pentium 4 2.8 ghz single core in it ehhhhhhh and the ram ETC.

OWAIT, no I shouldn't because it wouldn't worth a shit against even a 60$ non professional gpu in the tasks it was made to do.

And to bring it roundabout

A 280 ain't going to play shit, can't price to performance something when it is not performing.

i got a random hd 3850 laying around that works fine.... i think it's like 5 years old or something like that, i could put it in a computer today & i wouldn't be impressed if it's still working
same thing for my "pink panties " laptop , tho it's 8 years old & still works fine after never getting the thermal paste re applied until i got it.
after all , how can a chip break if it was already installed for you & you never tried anything stupid?

Usually it can't...but I did have a fan controller on my GTX 580, that went out....(I still think it was the newer EVGA Precision)

But the real point here is...I don't tell you what to buy...but you all tell me what to buy, or should have bought.
I also, don't get personal..anyone should feel free to disagree...just keep it non personal.

As for this topic...both the graph I posted and the one WWI posted show the same thing...the 780 is damn close.
The part I don't get is, you think I posted it to say Titan was better all round....I didn't. I posted it so ppl would know it was damn close and cheaper.

I'll still defend my right to buy what I want though :)

/e HalfDead14 said it best :)
