max temps are important to keep in check for sure, theyre also what i go off

if you only spike to 85C momentarily you should be totally fine though, i'd just keep the oc and try not to spike above 85C

can you still delid without regluing? seems like everyone's regluing it these days unlike when I was looking into it for the devils canyon cpu

yeah u dont have to glue it, just risky when you install or take out later on, cuz u dont want it to move even a bit.
i just put tiny dabs on opposite corner
also advise you to use a thermal pad instead of paste, not necessary but whenever you reapply 6months or so, it'll be more convenient.

from what ive read it seems like delid or no delid, ok temps are ok temps ie. 75C with a delid is same as 75C without a delid

you have a pretty high end motherboard too so i wouldnt worry about any other components, especially since you can't push your voltage to the extremes

never bad to stay on the safe side though, I ran my 4690K at 75C 3 years and while it didn't show any signs of degradation performance-wise it had some discoloration on the bottom

Lower is always better
The margins of gain is minimal but they are there in terms of lifespan and long term stability.

for RAM update. the 2 sticks just came in and i slopped them on the board.
with my OC profile active, it was not stable. PC seemed to boot normally, but my monitor refused to turn on.
i took the 2 extra stick back out and reset. upon boot, my ROG OC score was @ 30% instead of the 41% my profile is. it also stated something about an unstable system on last reboot.
i set my bios profile to default and reinstalled the ram sticks. here i am now.
will have to set a new profile it seems.

ya, it's only during a stress test that this chip gets over 50c, that i've noticed so far.
i'd also like to state that those graphite pads Secksii mentioned are the real deal.
i bought the cool innovation 30x30mm pad. it's a hidden blessing not to have to mess with thermal compounds.

i'm inclined to agree with this. i'm still going to push this chip further in the future, but that would be testing add-on purchases and not really profiles i would need to keep.
lower settings during my everyday use is probably for the best in the long run.

i already spent a bunch on the thermal grizzly conducto & kryo combo so no pads for me but I might consider that regluing technique, was planning on just leaving it but maybe a few lil dabs wouldnt hurt thermals noticably

do you overclock your RAM yourself or just use the XMP profile?

i've tried adjusting settings according to some guides early on, but they never worked as well as it did when leaving that to aisuite III.
with most all of my profiles used longer than an hour, I've used aisuite III with different goals, and then added on from there.

so ya in short, i just let the xmp profiling do it's thing through aisuite
