Go figure... Logic prevails.
So have you updated the bios yet sir?

Havent made the time to do that yet

Have other priorities now :/

Strangely the pc started up twice without me needing to reset the cmos

Mmm not sure if my pc had a jumper but wouldnt that only serve as another method to disconnect the battery and reconnect it?

The CMOS jumper is a 2 pin jumper for a 3 pin connection. If it's on pins one and two the BIOS operates normally. If it's on pins 2 and 3 however, then it will KEEP resetting the BIOS, which could generate the effects you are seeing.
Unless you moved it yourself though, that's probably not the cause.

Thats not what im seeing, unless I manually take out the battery

I read on google the jumper is just a way to reset bios vs manually taking out the battery (which is what im doing)

So I dont think my pc even has a jumper

E/ Will be home in 8 more hours to try what King Atrhur is suggesting

Its lasted for several years... 8+... so I think it's done a pretty good job since only the harddrive seems to be messing up

What would you recommend?
