usually if you right click on a program you have the option to run with the graphics processor of your choice... aka you can choose between the graphics card or the processor.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Description=GeForce%20GTX%201080%20Ti&Submit=ENE

wait... are these prices legit? I just RMA'd my 1080ti seahawk x but shit if i can sell it for double what i paid....why not!?

Yeah. All the miners buying all the vid cards made the prices... soar. BUT, all the vid cards down to the GTX 1060's are way over priced.
So w/e you gain selling, you'll in effect lose when buying another vid card.

Have a look...

What if i just wait and stick it out until Volta releases and rebuy a highend card then? In theory wouldnt the miners move to the latest and greatest leaving less of an insane interested in the last generation where I can maybe buy back in at my original price netting a cool $750 in the process?

I don't think there are enough vid cards to make the miners happy, even with the ones that will be coming out.
This isn't just the US and Canada, this is world wide.

Folks were busted in Russia for using super computer time, to mine. In Iceland, just recently, folks got busted for stealing huge mining rigs.

I think that we are gonna be stuck with high vid card prices for a while yet.
The choice is yours, obviously. I don't see vid card prices coming down for a long time unless something happens to the crypto-currency market.

This one is very hard to predict, so your guess is as good as mine.

Are RAM prices all jacked up because of miners too? If not miners, why?
