seems a little overly complicated but for a chip that size a standard mount wouldn't have enough pressure i guess

not a fan of the plastic bracket going in and under the metal clamp though.

Theres plastics that can withstand serious temps
Like 200C + and well if your shits that hot you need
not worry about the plastic retainer bracket anymore.

Ok true, but is that plastic not going to deform over time, bending the frame or even slighly lifting side of the cpu? Guess we'll see

Unless subjected to extreme temp changes or impacts they will hold up.
Now lets say you used liquid nitrogen to cool it then maybe you might
encounter issues depending on the plastic.
