Just be there when they do it. Somewhere on that panel, will be a model/part number.

yea ill ask the guy to show me the panel number before he replaces it. good idea. was planning on doing that already. but ill just have to quickly google the part number to make sure.

atrhur or any1, why would this HAVE to be done in a perfectly clean room? and what special equipment?

No, it can be done right where it sits.

The repair shop said they will just order a new front panel for the TV and replace it.

How can i make sure they dont try to fuk me over and order a different panel type? Like i want the exact panel meant for this TV so it is the same quality.

they said all their parts come from samsung directly. and that the technician has done several TV repairs. So they are ordering a new front panel.

You sure you want the same quality? The original one is shit, remember?

you know what i mean.... lol

i mean i dont want a different panel for a different samsung tv or a 3rd party panel. obviously i dont want the backlight bleed.

I dont know much about how the panel of a tv affects the quality of the image displayed? Does the panel affect the resolution? does the panel itself contain the pixels? like i dont know much about what the panel contains? or does the panel just provide a buffer between the layer of electronics, and pixel screen or whatever is behind the front panel? And the panel maybe just protects everything?

Even geek squads repair guy can fix these in home.

They come out inspect and verify go back and order the part it takes a 3-7 days or more depending on availability and they go back out and repair it. They do this in home for any TV bigger than 55 inches

just because you can do it, doesn't mean they should do it.
Hey dude, tons of internet people doing weird cringe shit online, doesn't mean you should do them.

How does this make any sense compared to what I had said?

Unless your saying they aren't qualified and don't know how? If that's the case let them come out and break your tv then they will have to replace it with a brand new one. That being said replacement parts on a tv are fairly straight forward as long as the guy isn't new. I think our local guy has been doing his job for about 8-10 years

the place that is going to replace the front panel on my TV is authorized through Samsung. Samsung actually set up the appointment with the store, and the store contacted me for a date. Right after i got off the phone with the store, samsung sent me a confirmation email about the appointment for that time.

I am worried, yes, because it is a 65 inch TV, and probably just one technician... but i am sure he has experience doing this. And well, samsung seems to be quite involved in the process, so if anything goes wrong, i will notify them. I hope everything goes smoothly though. Main concern is due to the size of the screen, and if one person is handling it, it may be difficult.

well yea. but one guy, moving around a 65 inch screen? and not dragging it on the floor?

its not that its heavy. its probably only like 5 lbs. but its just so WIDE and hard to grip and such.

They probably have special technicians, with extra long arms. :)
