There's a few different causes some of them are from the factory and nothing to do with shipping. I've had way worse luck with monitors than televisions.

I'm too poor to afford the high end OLED that would melt my eyes with its clarity

New tvs even high end ones are plagued with these issues. Quality control, mines so slight I just live with it and once I got the TV calibrated it's actually not super noticeable (but it wasn't bad to begin with)
