Thermal paste is very important in 2017, dare you dont use the wrong one and get 1'C hotter overlocking to 3 trillian gigahertz.

Sarcasm aside... The paste between the IHS & die actually does matter. You want as thin of an application as possible, so Liquid metal / Liquid metal ultra does far better than traditional pastes.


It's more like 5-10c~

Yeah I'll be ordering that from Cool Laboratory. I'll need new thermal paste anyways since I'll be taking off corsairs pre applied stuff to de-lid.


And temps matter a lot. I live practically in Texas and my office is upstairs so it can get toasty

Heh I actually ran my Core 2 Duo with no paste just bare heatsink against the ihs for years

Get the Liquid Ultra, Its easier to spread & more stable iirc


Just use any paste between the IHS & cpu cooler, Since liquid ultra is hard to remove & doesnt offer much between the ihs/cpu cooler
