$400

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mwssxY

Buy a $10 32gb flashdrive & go to the microsoft website

Use their ISO USB Flashdrive installer, which makes a bootable version of Windows 10.

Copy your key from your current PC.

G4560 is as good as a FX 8350, will kill any 720p games. Should do fine on 1080p, an upgrade will be needed- but luckily for you the G4560 is LGA1151 so you can direct upgrade to a i3-7350k or a i3 7100 for $50 more.

Recommended $300 upgrade with these parts:

Another 8gb of ram

GTX 1060 3gb for ~$170 - This will require a different power supply or a molar adapter to 6+2 male

i3 6100 for ~$100

If you want to increase the adaptive-ness of this PC, I recommend swapping out the case and getting a Rosewill Glacier 500M Semi PSU then picking up a $20 case.

You can also get most of these parts used refurbished from Amazon for about $20 less than their retail price; putting this PC at about $400 after shipping/taxes

Just sold a 750 TI SC on craigslist(brand new) for $80, so might want to check stuff like that aswell. (Be careful, never meet someone at night or obscure non-public locations)

tell me why an apu isn't optimal here

an apu is pretty useless. you can buy a pentium and a gpu for better performance. even an athlon and a cheap gpu > apu

apus just suck for the price. if they were sub 60 dollars, and beat intel integrated by an appreciable margin, then maybe.

As two other builds show, I also recommend a pentium build. their newest one is basically an i3 and is amazing for the price.
