Kinda feels like this is what's gonna happen. :/

amd willingly used specint 2006 for a benchmark the first time ever, i think(?) , which is a largely reliable industry standardized benchmark

they never used it before because they knew their shit sucked. fx was a flop and they admitted that when they didn't release specint benches

per clock it performs the same
i wouldn't expect a 5960x to clock to 5ghz without ln2, would you?
then why would you hold the 1700/1700x/1800/1800x's to the same standard?

and if you want better gaming performance, disable four cours, overclock the remaining four.. good in pretty much any use case scenario

ipc is everything when it comes to disabling cores you dont need and overclocking the ones you do.

so wheres the oc specs?

oh thats right you have none and basing everything off 1 sample from god knows where that was submitted by an unknown and speculating it will OC great.
Sorry I'm with secksii till I see more data. Plus theres no inclination of developers steering to more core utilization.

Intel already showed us they have the technology for slapping on more cores to there die's. Only thing I want is amd to intel a reason to push harder.
my 3770k is only 20% off from the 7700k making it stupid to upgrade.

edit, regardless, i don't understand why you need 5ghz on 8 cores to game

I know a guy that runs his 5960x at 5.1 on water

lolwat 6300/8350 was a great CPU.

i could pretty much be a herp derp too

zomg, 1700x turbo disabled for $531 vs 7700k for $459, for less it's still faster single and quad core speedzzzz
NEW CPU at 5th speed rank vs OLDER CPU at 3rd speed rank?!?! what is dis magik?!
1 bench vs 6.5k benchmarks?!?! fuck dat! 1 bench >>>>>>>> :wallbash:

If AMD was on the up and up, they would have given some Ryzen CPUs to Anandtech.

ye, but they won't cos they need them presales maxed out while the hype is still strong.

glad AMD started to make their own cpu's again.

Can't see the reason for an NDA if the CPU's are...all that.

I hope they are...all that, but it's been dragged out so long now, I'm getting suspicious.

I'm the proud owner of a FX-4170 and an FX-8350. They had NDAs as well.

Reverse engineering a CPU takes a bit longer than a week or two.
