The new 4ks look amazing, but a lot of the lower priced ones skimp on other features, and the really nice sets in that size range are like $1500+

I bought a floor model 75" Samsung, like a 2012 or 2013 model, 240hz effective, 3d, 1080p, multi zone backlighting, few small issues if you look at it from 6" away, otherwise in great condition....I paid under $600 and that included sourcing and purchasing 4 sets of active 3d glasses for it...Yeah, stand 2 feet away and you can see pixels the size of chiclets, but its a 75" tv and I can't see myself watching it from any closer than 6' back or so....I'm very happy with it and it will last me a couple years, then I will unload it on someone for virtually what I paid for it and drop the dough for 4k

Original sales price when it was new? over $9,000

Honestly, if you're willing to consider a 55" instead of 60", this is an amazing TV for the price, and calibrates very well:

The integrated Roku is really nice, too. It doesn't do 3D, but 3D is way overrated, IMO. Also easily supports 3rd-party control, like Harmony, URC, Control 4, etc, and can be wall mounted.

I have the 50" version of this TV, and I love it.

No matter what size TV you get, it won't "make it bigger".

Leaning towards the 55 inch sony. I just don't think a 60'' tv will look good with less than an inch of wall on both sides. A 55'' will give mroe of that "framed" look.

Thank you everyone for your help! I appreciate it very much.
