You can get the logitech G230 for around $20-30 on amazon. My wife uses them and I think they are super comfortable. I have also heard really great things about the hyperX.

While I truly understand where everyone is coming from on the independent mic/headset option, I feel this isn't necessary for my casual gaming. The mic is there just as an additional "just in case" feature, I don't plan on really talking to anyone, but it's there if I feel the need to.
I just want something simple and affordable for casual use so that other people don't have to hear my sound.

@The only legitimate suggestion I got, thank you for the suggestion, but it's a bit out of my intended price range.

Trust me, comfort over everything

if you can find a pair of Audio Technica AD-700's or AD700x they are older models but VERY comfortable and the price on them is really good, of course you would be buying used most likely

So you're gunna skip over my suggestion which was the first reply and around $70 after tax?

My apologies, it'd difficult to respond to multiple people on mobile. I could only find those for $80+, I did not mean to ignore your suggestion, I simply hadn't had a chance to respond to it. While I do appreciate the suggestion, it is a little out of my intended price range. Thank you though.

Cloud Hyperx 2 or whatever it is if you're set on a headset

This, probably highest quality built headset I ever had, the wire I don't know how many times it pulled around my chair arms and pulled the wire and it never broke
The wire is not plastic so no matter how many time u twist it, it will never break

I have it for a bit over a year and all my other headsets I had before all break around 10 months where one headphone start making noise or receiving half sound

Only downside of this headset tho has nothing to do with quality or sound but after u wear it more than an hour, it leaves circular marks on your head from headphones if u have anything but long hair and its realllyyy annoying, u have to go sleep or shower so it goes away
And read online if u wear some kind of thick glasses legs with this headset it will leave glasses holes or w-e its called in your skull from headset pressure (Cant confirm as I dont wear my glasses enough to know and my glasses are thin on the sides so)

I mean, I'll jump in this pissing contest :3

Some people just want the simplicity of a headset & really don't care for anything else, Just need something cheap they can talk back & forth & play games randomly on.

There's nothing wrong with that. Now if your budget is a few hundred dollars.... Then I'd try to talk them out of it.. But Sub $100, Why not let them get what they want.

My vote goes to the Phillips SHP9500 + V-Boom Mic (if needed). Headphones on sale at Newegg right now for 54.99. V-Boom available on Musicians Friend for 30. Going to blow away pretty much every "gaming" headset around $100
