if youre so set on those 2 monitors, and even considering a samsung monitor, then lol.

What is wrong with my Samsung option for a VA panel? Seems to be on the same performance as other TNs

Calibration?
Just like any other monitor
Asus should be 150 now considering how long its been around

You can't calibrate a VG248QE to have any sort of accurate colors. I have one. I followed the thread on reddit, used color profiles from several sources, etc. Nothing makes those reproduce color anywhere near an IPS panel. 2016 model TN panels can get leagues closer.

I hate my mobo but can't be bothered sending it back.

Not even going to join the argument on which is better...

But just want to jump in here, and tell you.... It doesnt matter how many guides / .icc profiles you try from OTHER PEOPLE... Each monitor is different. Pretty much the only legit way to calibrate a monitor, Is to buy a calibration tool.

the m5/m7 msi mobo's sucked major dick at release. They've fixed a lot of issues / added more bios options with the newer bios version though. Have you updated the bios at all?

It's a fact that panels with tech from 2016 are better than panels with tech from 2012. That's not something to even argue about. lol

True, tho.

I have not, hopefully the new bios supports vdroop else this thing remains a pos.
Last I checked, two weeks ago, I had the latest bios

Newer doesn't always mean better. What i meant by my first sentence, Was that I honestly have no opinion. I frankly don't give a fuck about which one is better. Just wanted to throw in the color calibration info :P

M7 had an issue if you DISABLED the onboard audio... It would literally break the mobo till you enabled it again

And bad vdroop, With no settings.

Stopped using that mobo for awhile, And when i ended up using it again... They had a new bios that fixed the audio bug (which they originally told me was specific to my board, not an error in the bios :/ ) And added a little vdrop control, Not as much as I'd hoped... But still enough that its easier to OC with.

My i5 2500k OC's to 4.6ghz np.
This thing can't get to 4.6ghz stable due to vdroop.

no update for the m5 to support vdroop, only m3/m7
