Look at the middle pic in post #6. You see how close the height of the bed is to the window sill?
That's another reason. A bed frame with a headboard would be blocking the window, a frame without a headboard would be kinda dangerous...head up against glass etc.
But mostly, I never understood the NEED for bed frames. I don't have to vacuum under the bed, it's easier to "make" the bed...etc.
Plus, since we are past the days of dirt floors, or floors with rough wood planks, don't have to worry anymore about varmits.

The pic of my furniture layout is not really to scale either. The bed could be placed nowhere else, without severely blocking something.
/e Btw, before you go there...the computer desk is NOT moving anywhere. In a 1908 2nd floor apt. with no insulation, it NEEDS to be right where it is.

I got sun on the left and top wall, in the morning, and sun on the right and bottom wall, in the afternoon.
