What? An XPS15 with similar hardware to a MBP runs about 1450 new compared to 1999 minimum. The main difference is the MBP has a resolution of 2880x1800 compared to 1080p on the XPS15. The XPS15 has an IPS panel too. You can get an XPS15 with a 4k screen for 50 more than the MBP.

As an added benefit, the XPS15 has a 6th gen i7 processor while MBP's still use 4th gen. The XPS15 also has a dedicated gpu which may or may not benefit you already factored into the price vs the Iris Pro on the MBP.

This is the most fair comparison, so as I was saying... the Dell XPS costs 50 dollars more than the Macbook.

Yes it has a better CPU... but the mousepad on the Macbook is VASTLY superior. But then again the XPS has infinity edge display.... But then again the Macbook has slightly better battery life...

I could go on. Overall, they're more or less the same, and cost more or less the same. I have my priorities so I'd choose a Macbook over an XPS any day of the week.

One thing is clear, and that is that the Macbook is NOT overpriced.

Not really pointing towards anyone in this thread in particular, but its hilarious how windows fanboys cry at Macbooks for being overpriced and that they cost "twice as much" as Windows counterparts, but they always end up +/- in the same price range give or take a hundred dollar bill (or two) when they are equally specced..

Individually there are laptops with higher screen res (not that it really matters once you have 2800*1800 on a 15"..), newer CPUs, thinner, more battery life (but IMO, and a lot of professional reviewer's opinions) the MBP is the best laptop all round high-end laptop on the market.

the Macbook Pros are getting relatively dated, and the Macbook Airs are very dated by now, but back in 2010,2011, 2012,2013, 2014 and early 2015 I remember pretty much every publication had either MBP or MBA ranked as #1 laptop on the market. but windows laptops like the Dell XPS 13 have caught up with Apple.

I do wish Apple had a lower entry-level price though. If only there was an $800-1000 Macbook Air with Retina (2560x1600 or higher) res screen... would be my perfect laptop.

U buying mac because some other kids from your class has one aswell?
Overpriced, anyoing OS, almost impossible to repair. Adobe programs runs fine on win 7/8 and 10.

The retina screen and design are top notch tho.

These arguments. Wow :wallbash:
