I appreciate further explanation of this topic; there seems to be strobing versus "flicker-free" modes to be considered.
As far as I know, strobing causes flickering, but reduces motion blur, while "flicker-free" mode reduces flicker. Theoretically, a higher refresh rate should reduce flickering and motion blur, at the cost of GPU performance, so if you have the GPU power, the highest refresh rate possible should be the best, but according to this video, too high of refresh rates might cause headaches, too, which is why our brains use motion blur.
