If I had a desktop to shove it in to, I would.

Well, fault is at manufacturers who yet fail to design a good looking HS for our CPUs.

Understood but in all seriousness, it is amazing that after Megahalems there haven't been many design-aware products on market.

Megahelms weighed so much, they broke a lot of motherboards.

/e Well they cracked a lot of motherboards. I almost bought one, back in the day.

Well, mate. Ain't my problem if people can't install a simple heatsink on their CPU.

It was more like hanging an engine block off of the motherboard.
I remember seeing tons of topics and post on tons of sites, with solutions for strapping the cooler to the case somehow.

In some cases, just up-righting the computer after installing a megahelm was enough to crack the motherboard traces.

Cooling wise, it was an awesome cooler. Just way too heavy.

Well, you can't make a huge heatsink without it getting heavy. If you want it, you have to come up with solution.

I mean, you kind of can.

Heatpipes, thin baseplate, low count aluminum fins etc.

It's just a crappier one.
