ur 980 shud go easily to 4.3...try setting CPU-NB and NB volts to 1.25 or 1.3 ^^

where to start...I did buy, but send back a 955 (C3) because my mobo the ASUS M4N82 Deluxe has a known "reference clock chips" problem...they aren't stable. Also.it seems one of the RAM slots is ...starting to go bad...maybe...every time I turn the comp completely off...it must cool down and contract or something....coz when I turn it on...no screen until I take out and re-seat the RAM.
.and my current mobo is only AM3...not AM3+ so I couldn't use the Piledriver or Steamrollers in it later on.

Other than that it works fine is OC'd to 3.7 and 3.8Ghz stable...I run 3.7 for 24/7 ops.

As for why you even bother...I have no clue

then buy new mobo/cpu/ram and reuse the rest from your 955 build, take whats leftover from 955 build and take pieces from your athlon build revive your 955 build , start scraping the athlon altogether or craigslist it

also try the newer intel out before your ass dies <-- not trying to be that big of an ass but seriously try ivy/sandy out
