The really sad part is...that all you regulars alreaady know this is the best solution to a plethora opf software problems, and a great troubleshoot aid as well...is the RAM bad or is it just a corrupted file...a simple restore from backup will answer that question. Primary HDD dies...no problem...use the Macurium boot CD.to restore a newly purchased replacement drive, from a back up...sure..if a CPU fries, it won't solve that kind of problem. But honestly...there are 1000's more software problems than hardware problems.
This two program solution, eliminates every software issue you can have...and does it w/o all the endless posts, and endless virus/trojan scans....no more factory restores and the re-installing of all programs etc.
...and everyone knows system restore on any version of Windows is totally useless.
As for spam...the only spam in this post has come from those that profess to HELP people.
honestly, i dont recommend any of that crap. i suggest a new hard drive and a reinstall of os. recover info from the old drive. if the drive was fine, now you have a backup.
i make weekly backups of all of my computers. they dump directly to their designated folders(yes, folders. partitions are stupid ideas) and do not ever have an issue.
