We're in an exclusive, long term relationship, but we don't share bank accounts or anything like that.

I pay for most of my expenses and bills and he does the same for himself. I don't understand why just because I sold 1 thing to him that makes us any less of a couple? He actually wanted to give me something for it because I could use the money at the time. It was a few months old then and I didn't nickel and dime him for what I had originally paid.
