jesus christ, i accidentally clicked the edit checkbox, now idk how to get out of edit mode. it seems to forever load. clicking "save" doesnt work, and there's no cancel button

Just close the tab...and click on upload images then browse to your saved screenshot, then click start upload...then it's the 2nd link from the bnottom.

They have a browser tool or plugin if your life is that busy, I've never used it, but I've seen it.

Imgur takes a while to get used to, but it does everything Tinypic or ImageShack can do and a lot more.

I'm also using a 1000 dpi mouse, but I don't think that really matters.
