4.0 must be good then. My first mic died of moisture. They didn't come with spit filters in gen 1. My first mic was replaced by the owner in exchange for sending it in. The third mic I bought, it was a gen 2 I think. Not sure what he did to his mics afterwards. I think his name is John too. I don't remember but the owner is a really nice guy.

The problem with a desktop mic is that I will also be using this for console gaming which would be on my couch which is why I like the idea of the modmic. I'm not sure how well a desktop mic would work there. I'm not against the idea though just not sure how well it would stand up on a couch and still be able to pick me up clearly without me being too loud.

They are great for recording. Tested, tried and true. The media loves these.
