Don't get mod mic. If you do get omni directional. Get a desktop standing microphone and it'll sound much clearer.

I haven't had any issues with my modmic and I have liked mine a lot. But it is true that desktop mics can offer better quality, but can also pick up more keyboard noise as well.

There's really no point in buying a desktop mic if all you're gonna do is speak to other people in TS. If you stream and stuff I could understand you'd want something better though.

I have a number of mod mics over the years and they go bad.

The mic quits picking up or gets distorted. I've have the gen 1 and 2. Not sure about any after that. I think he's up to gen 4. Who knows.

Huh?

You can get a desktop mic for like $6 that works great for Voip programs.

I have the 4.0 version and still running strong.
