Does anyone have a Wii U?

I bought Zelda: OoT on my sisters Wii last year. I thought I could sign into the account I made and play it on the Wii I just picked up pretty cheap. Nope. I've got to buy it again.

Does anyone have any experience with the Wii U?

Primarily want to play zelda games, Windwaker specifically. I can't find Windwaker any less than $30, and I can't find OoT any less than $40 for gamecube. So if I'm going to spend that kind of money, I might as well pick up the Wii U and spend money on something that's at least current.

With the Wii U, is it like Steam? Where I can just log in and play games I've purchased through the eShop? Or is it specific to the console they are purchased on like the Wii? If so, that's ridiculous and they'll not be getting my money.

Edit: and I can't seem to find whether or not Ocarina of Time can even be played on the Wii U.. It keeps coming up just for the Wii virtual console. Is this a joke or am I missing something?
