Well Adobe just released an update to Flash today (v 18.0.0.209)...it may or may not solve the issues, but it's not on any browsers' block list yet, so maybe they fixed the problem. If not, I'm sure, at least that Mozilla will add the newest version to their block list, if it still has the vulnerabilities.

/e I always use the stand alone installers, which can be found here:

What I meant was, is there another platform that can be used in place of Adobe / Flash?

Tecdhnically, the answer is no, there isn't another option.

The websites themselves decide whether to use Flash or HTML5...most are not using HTML5, but the adoption rate is not rapid.

The latest version of Flash...18.0.0.209, STILL has not been added to the block list by Firefox, so as of this moment it appears to be safe.
