Is an amp just for more volume or does it enhance the sound quality (probably the latter)? I dont need huge volume.

Ive been curious about this "quality sound" for some time now. I dont have any amp though. Just my laptop, phone, xbox will be the uses generally. Not sure if amp is required or whatever- that stuff doesnt make sense to me :(

You will be fine running them without an amp but amp can enchange the sound experience, O2 amp is pretty much best price vs quality amp to get for headphones. You can also use AVR if you happen to have one or plan to build HT.
